Double-Bass, synthesizer, pick ups

Alfredo graduated from the University of Brasilia in the double-bass. While he was a student he formed the band Os Cachorros das Cachorras , one of the most important in the Brazilian pop scene of the 90s. As a double-bass player he recorded with Ottto, Consciência Humana, Selma Reis, Carlos Zimbher and Posse Mente Zulu. Nowadays he plays in the bands Dona Zica and Pedra Branca and is working with the percussionist Simone Soul on an experimental project rooted in traditional Brazilian music and electronic music called Projeto Cru (Raw Project)

Alfredo also works as a producer and DJ, going under the name of DJ Tudo. Highlights of his work as a producer are the original CD called Maracatu Nação Pernambuco, recorded live at SESC Vila Mariana and Mehinaku - Message from the Amazon , which was co-produced with Naná Vaconcelos and is based on traditional music from the Xingú tribes in the Amazon region.

In addition to his music, Alfredo has been seeking artistic inspiration through researching such different worlds as traditional Brazilian popular music and electronic music.

New Projects
Alfredo is planning to launch a new recording label with traditional music and to record a CD as DJ Tudo. He has just taken on the role of Musical Director for the theatre director José Celso Martinez Corrêa in the new production "The Sertões" ("The Backwoods").
