Tamsin is a concert promoter working at The Arches, a large 1800 capacity venue in Glasgow, Scotland. She has been promoting for almost four years there and is responsible for researching, programming, promoting and producing all the live music and club programme for the venue. During her time there she has made significant increases in the quantity of world music, experimental music, acoustic music and live dance music they promote there. Recent concerts have included Femi Kuti and the Positive Force (Nigeria), Orchestra Baobab (Senegal), The Necks (Australia), Ryoji Ikeda (Japan), The Herbaliser, Roots Manuva, The Cinematic Orchestra and Zero 7, with many of these artists performing in Scotland for the first time.

There is more info about the venue with full concert listings and a complete archive of past concerts at www.thearches.co.uk

Tamsin has worked within the music industry as a promoter, agent and tour manager for several years but comes from a background of playing and teaching music. She is violinist/fiddle player and comes from a very musical family (she played in a family ceilidh band for years!) and is therefore very familiar with the traditional music scene (Celtic and wider Europe). Prior to her work at the Arches, she worked for three years as an artists agent and tour manager at an agency called Adastra in the UK. The agency represented mainly folk and world music artists. While at Adastra, she worked on organising several British Council tours for artists in Brazil, Pakistan, FYROM and Greece.
