Following the path of autofiction, the French-Uruguayan playwright Sergio Blanco presents a show that revolves around his mother, Liliana Ayestarán, who died in his arms in 2022 at an intensive care unit in Montevideo. As a tribute to the memory of his mother, who was a renowned literature professor, the author brings together three characters who were Liliana’s students and have experienced a loss in their own families. Blanco recreates the school setting, with a sport court and his mother’s desk, to interview the characters. The play addresses not only how existence changes after a loved one dies, but also theatrical representation.

Sergio Blanco is a playwright and theater director. He grew up in Montevideo and lives in Paris. After studying classical philology and theater direction at Comédie Française, he started to dedicate to writing and direction. He also teaches seminars and courses in different countries. His works includes Tebas Land, Ostia, La Ira de Narciso, El Bramido de Düsseldorf, Cuando Pases sobre Mi Tumba, and Zoo.
